The Annual Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade finished before the rain got too heavy, almost.
However, the rain didn't dampen the festive crowd as 1000s of residents and visitors lined the
sidewalks of Coleman Boulevard to share some Christmas Cheer along with all the tail gate favors
they brought along. The event is heavily attended and the damp evening didn't keep any parade
watchers away as this years crowd seem bigger than any previous year.
The parade is a spectacle to enjoy for young and old.
Coleman Blvd. is lighted and decorated and every float
is also fully lighted. Kids especially love the bright shiny
lights. Santa is usually escorted atop a Mount Pleasant
Fire Department fire engine. This year area high
schools Burke and Wando led the top billing for High
School marching bands. The Charleston Police
Department bagpipes were there. A damp Mist started
falling about halfway through the parade and eventually
turned into a asteady drizzle about the time Santa made
his way to the end of the route. If one has never
attended the mount Pleasant Parade it has to be put on
there to do list for next year.

An overcast sky hung over Mount Pleasant as parade participants lined the area before Shem Creek.
The firework display kicked off the start of the parade as marching bands and floats filed down eager
onlookers. Coleman Blvd. Was transformed into one large picnic and tailgate party as "pro" parade
goers set up elaborate picnic tables, bar b Que and other party and picnic supplies. As the The parade
had some very unique some were outstandingly decorated. The lighted floats really put Christmasy spin
on the parade and make it one of the more unique events int he Lowcountry of South Carolina.

A Lot of hard work was put into decorating these floats, some of the notable floats this year were belle Hall School, Kids
Teeth, Palmetto Christian Academy, Papa Johns, Tapio School Of Dance, Lowcountry Karate, and many others. The
weather conditions, lighting and crowd made for a very challenging photographic environment.
