Lowcountry Strawberry Festival
Boone Hall and Mount Pleasant come alive in the springtime with the annual
Lowcountry Strawberry festival. The strawberry festival has been growing year after
year and this year appears to be the biggest and best one yet. More rides and
attractions have been added this year. Last year there were rides that equaled the
Coastal Carolina Fair. The festival runs two days in May and the crowds are
extremely large, but not too crowded to have a good time. It is the perfect time of
year to hold an outdoor festival also as in the lowcountry, the days have been steadily
warming, but are not the uncomfortable heat like midsummer. Kids from all over the
Charleston area pour into the Boone Hall Farms area to ride rides, play carnival games,
face painting, beauty contests, and oh yes pick bags full of ripe strawberries. Lowcountry
