Advice From Someone Who Knows - Charleston
By Taylor Shippen
So the economy is treating you right huh? Even in these times of financial disaster, you (brilliant investor that you are), have saved enough money to take advantage of hard times. And what better way to invest than to buy real estate at fire sale prices? I can’t think of a more secure investment, especially while the economy is down. The problem with real estate is that as an investor, you need to know where your money will be best spent. If you’re interested, read on.
When you think of prime real estate, what do you think of? Beach front property? Close proximity to school and work? Good neighborhoods? Excellent historic tours? I know that’s what I’m thinking about when I invest my money. That’s why I buy Charleston real estate. What could be better than living in an upscale community near a beach in an area that is rich with the colors of history?
Charleston real estate is different. It’s not about the in your face architecture that so many buildings on the coast want to show. It’s about beauty and quiet in a world that is full of neither. Housing prices are flexible too, with scalable purchase prices that range from 4-8 million. But that really shouldn’t be a concern right? After all, a 4 million dollar house will be worth at least 6 million dollars 4 years from now, with a little help from inflation that is. Plus, anyone with a brain can see that Charleston has some of the greatest sea food in the world. Don’t believe me? Try the number three special at “Hank’s SeaFood Resteraunt” on Hayne Street.
Maybe you’re a thrill seeker in addition to being very wealthy? Try the “Thriller” speed boat tour, the only speed boat catamaran that takes passengers! It’s one of the greatest attractions of Charleston Harbor. Just read these rave reviews: “This is the best tour I've been on, and I definitely recommend it.” “If you are looking for a unique way to tour the Charleston harbor, this is for you” “Take it from a life-long, born here, local: Thriller Charleston is fantastic!” Need I say more?
Apparently you’re still not convinced: you’re still reading. Well if you love water, Charleston has fantastic beaches, just have a go at Foley beach if you don’t believe me. The sand and locals draw in crowds of people wanting to enjoy the sun and temperate climate. If crowds aren’t your thing, head up to “The Washout”, where the surfers go to shred. Ride a few waves and see if you wouldn’t want to buy a house just 10 miles away.
Charleston real estate is one investment that should be at the top of your list. Its beach front location and upscale neighborhoods secure the value of the homes in the area. The locals are low-key and unobtrusive. The weather is temperate almost all year ‘round. If you are unsure where to put your money in an economy that seems to just keep falling and falling, I have three words for you: Charleston real estate.
