Charleston Real Estate

Advice From Someone Who Knows - Charleston

By Taylor Shippen

So the economy is treating you right huh? Even in these times of financial disaster, you (brilliant investor that you are), have saved enough money to take advantage of hard times. And what better way to invest than to buy real estate at fire sale prices? I can’t think of a more secure investment, especially while the economy is down. The problem with real estate is that as an investor, you need to know where your money will be best spent. If you’re interested, read on.

When you think of prime real estate, what do you think of? Beach front property? Close proximity to school and work? Good neighborhoods? Excellent historic tours? I know that’s what I’m thinking about when I invest my money. That’s why I buy Charleston real estate. What could be better than living in an upscale community near a beach in an area that is rich with the colors of history?

Charleston real estate is different. It’s not about the in your face architecture that so many buildings on the coast want to show. It’s about beauty and quiet in a world that is full of neither. Housing prices are flexible too, with scalable purchase prices that range from 4-8 million. But that really shouldn’t be a concern right? After all, a 4 million dollar house will be worth at least 6 million dollars 4 years from now, with a little help from inflation that is. Plus, anyone with a brain can see that Charleston has some of the greatest sea food in the world. Don’t believe me? Try the number three special at “Hank’s SeaFood Resteraunt” on Hayne Street.

Maybe you’re a thrill seeker in addition to being very wealthy? Try the “Thriller” speed boat tour, the only speed boat catamaran that takes passengers! It’s one of the greatest attractions of Charleston Harbor. Just read these rave reviews: “This is the best tour I've been on, and I definitely recommend it.” “If you are looking for a unique way to tour the Charleston harbor, this is for you” “Take it from a life-long, born here, local: Thriller Charleston is fantastic!” Need I say more?

Apparently you’re still not convinced: you’re still reading. Well if you love water, Charleston has fantastic beaches, just have a go at Foley beach if you don’t believe me. The sand and locals draw in crowds of people wanting to enjoy the sun and temperate climate. If crowds aren’t your thing, head up to “The Washout”, where the surfers go to shred. Ride a few waves and see if you wouldn’t want to buy a house just 10 miles away.

Charleston real estate is one investment that should be at the top of your list. Its beach front location and upscale neighborhoods secure the value of the homes in the area. The locals are low-key and unobtrusive. The weather is temperate almost all year ‘round. If you are unsure where to put your money in an economy that seems to just keep falling and falling, I have three words for you: Charleston real estate.

James Island, SC Local Information James Island has some of the most sought after property in every of Charleston as a consequence of it is close distance to downtown Charleston as well as the beach. Location is just one of James Island's most significant selling points. It is possible to go ahead and take James Island Connector over the harbor to downtown Charleston in about 5-10 minutes. Folly Beach is a favored among locals and it is within a 5-15 minute drive. Due to the fact James Island is the most accessible suburb back and forth from downtown Charleston, there are a very good rental market. It's usually the top chosen places to call home for College of Charleston, MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina), and Charleston School of Law students. Therefore, real estate investors often pick the condos and townhouses on James Island for investment purposes. Nevertheless, most of the residents on James Island may not be students. Single family detached houses make-up many housing options. Local neighborhoods are sprinkled throughout the island, but many of these can be found off Harbor View Road (which runs parallel to the Charleston Harbor), Riverland Drive (which runs alongside the back of James Island), and Fort Johnson Road (which is perpendicular and divides the island in half). James Island has become slowly developed over the past fifty years, so a lot of the houses available for sale are older (built before the year 2000). These older homes are brilliant for buyers wanting larger lot sizes in addition to buyers and investors who don't mind making cosmetic renovations. New construction homes are also available on James Island, however these make-up a smaller percentage in the current homes for sale. Newer neighborhoods include Eaglewood Retreat, Jamestowne Village, Lakeside Village, Lawton Harbor, Ocean Neighbors, Seaside Plantation, Westfield Place, Bayview Farms, and Woodward Pointe. The public schools on James Island are second only to Mt. Pleasant within the Charleston County School District. James Island was the initial public high school in Sc to convert to being a Charter school. With approximately 1,500 students, now it is the largest Charter high school inside the southeast. Students can choose from a range of after school activities and clubs, including sailing, engineering, yoga, surfing, French, and Spanish. James Island Charter High School has the benefit of an incredible athletic program. Beyond the usual football and basketball, the school also has sports options like field hockey and golf. Together with this sort of close proximity to the beach and downtown, James Island residents often take the 5-10 minute drive to these areas for entertainment. However, there are several of activities and never have to leave the area. You are going to come across many chain restaurants like Chick-fil-A, but nearly all James Island's restaurants are locally owned. The Mustard Seed, Andolini's Pizza, Barberitos, The Kickin' Chicken, and Boulevard Diner are a handful of the neighborhood preferred. James Island also offers two movie theaters - a Carmike Cinema that shows every one of the major motion pictures and the Terrace Theatre, which shows mostly independent films. For outdoor entertainment, the James Island County Park has a little something for all. It's got the greatest climbing wall in SC, a dog park, a fishing pier, and a water park in addition to the in excess of six hundred acres of walking trails, intramural fields, and marsh. for the most up to date information on James Island Real Estate for the most up to date information on Charleston Foreclosures for the most up to date information on Isle of Palms Foreclosures
