As you can see above from the list of events, Charleston has a festival to entertain
everyone. From grits,crawfish,strawberries and seafood, Charleston in April and May
becomes the festival capital of the South

Base Air Expo 2011
As fall approaches the lowcountry of South
Carolina,back to school enters the minds of parents
and kids. The annual Charleston First Day Festival.
The First Day Festival started in Charleston back in
2003. Easch year schools and local business leaders
participate in activities to support the coming new
school year. Free school supplies are handed out while
supplies last. This years festival is slated for Sunday,
August 14th, 2011 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Liberty
Square at the SC Aquarium and the Charleston
Maritime Center. There will be education
exhibits,celebrity chef demonstrations, recreation
activities, entertainment, free boat rides. The event is
free to attend. Parking is available for all for a flat rate
of $1 either at the SC Aquarium and Gaillard Garages.
Shuttle bus service will be provided from the Gaillard
Garage to Liberty Square. Charleston County Schools
begin the new year Tuesday, August 16th.
