Charleston Air Force Base is returning this spring and will feature the Air Force’s Thunderbirds performance planes.
Air Expo 2011 is scheduled for April 9 at the Air Base.
the U.S. Army Special Ops Black Daggers jump team will also be on hand. The Air Force show was cancelled last year due to efforts in Afghanistan. The show is a good time for kids and adults alike and gives everyone access to a real life Air Force base, which during regular days is heavily guarded and requires a security pass. The Air Force has plans to recreate the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor with their program named "Tora,Tora,Tora. "Tora, Tora, Tora" is intended as a memorial to all the soldiers on both sides. If you go Gates open at 8 A.M. If you wait til later in the day expect traffic backups, the event is a long and popular one in the Charleston area and a large crowd is expected, especialy with the perfect weather we are experiencing.. The event has always been a free event.
