Charleston Christmas Parade 2011
The Annual Charleston Firefighters Christmas parade was held down King Street on a beautiful
lowcountry afternoon. The parade was kicked off by 4 Charleston City Police on motorcycles,
The Citadel Corp of Cadets and Mayor Riley. The sidewalks along King Street were lined with
spectators young and old alike as this year had to be a record crowd. Many of Charlestons high
Schools represented with their marching bands and of course Burke High School stole the show.
This years parade had many new floats like Snoopy and Kids Teeth of Mount Pleasant with a
homage to the Space Shuttle. The Charleston belly Dance Club was there along with the local
Roller Derby team, even tony the peanut man donned a brown peanute outfit and is always fun to
watch. Today was a festive day and anyone that attended could have felt the Christmas spirit in
